Expressing Myself: A New Chapter in Blogging and Vlogging
Hi there! My name is Carl Khan, and this is my very first time creating an online blog. For years, I’ve been aware of blogs but never really delved into them. When I think of blogging, my mind goes back to the TV show Ugly Betty, where Betty, the main character, starts a blog that leads to a series of funny and unexpected events—eventually earning her a blog award. There’s a scene in the show where Betty explains why she started her blog, and it really stuck with me. She says, “Blogs give people who don’t have a TV station or a big platform the chance to say something. It’s a way for anyone to be heard, regardless of how many people are listening” (Ugly Betty, Season 4, Episode 13, 37:50). This idea of being able to share your voice with the world, no matter how small the audience, inspired me to finally create my own. Art is a way for me to express myself.
